Kolbeco PR Client Gains Worldwide Exposure

April 30, 2007
Kolbeco PR Client Antennas Direct of St. Louis gained worldwide attention through an Associated Press story featuring the television antenna’s “new life” through HDTV.

The AP Story, released last week, was picked up around the world in over 150 news outlets. Placements included USA Today, ABC News, Forbes, Business Week, CBS News, The Washington Post, The LA Times, Australian IT News, The China Post, and scores of local papers in the United States, Europe, and Asia.

The article, written by Jim Milicia of the AP’s Cleveland Bureau, discusses why antennas are experiencing a resurgence in popularity. According to Antennas Direct President Richard Schneider, the best possible HDTV picture quality results not from cable or sattelite, but from an HD antenna. And, as the article states: “..the best part? Over-the-air HD is free.”

Antennas Direct is a manufacturer of high definition television antennas, and has garnered extensive media coverage recently as attention on HD televisions and programming has grown. The company was founded in 2003 by Richard Schneider, an HDTV enthusiast, as a means to get a better HD signal for his own home theater. He began by selling a few each month to people who asked about the antennas on various HDTV online forums. Before he knew it, his hobby had grown into a multi-million dollar business.

Schneider and his antennas have previously been featured on NBC’s “Today” Show, CNBC, Newsweek, The St. Louis Post-Dispatch, The Albany Time Union, The Chicago Daily Southtown, The Houston Chronicle, The St. Louis Business Journal, and numerous national home entertainment publications. Antennas Direct has been a Kolbeco client since early 2005.
